Toluene Conversion by Using Different Morphology MnO2 Catalyst

MnOx was one of the important catalysts for degradation organic compounds. MnO2 with different morphology (nanotube, nanowire, nanocubic and nanoflower) were synthesized by hydrothermal method using KMnO4 MnSO4 as precursors. Firstly, their structures studied X-ray diffraction (XRD), N2 adsorption desorption curve, H2 temperature programmed reduction (H2-TPR) electron spectroscopy (XPS). Next, catalytic conversion test toluene carried out under condition concentration 500 ppm gas flow rate 200 mL min–1. The results showed that crystal structure nanotube nanowire ?-MnO2, nanoflower ?-MnO2 phase other crystalline, nanocube ?-MnO2. For MnO2, activity increased rise temperature. Nanotube, reached 100% at 225°C, 250°C, 275°C 325°C, respectively. highest among all samples, which attribute to larger specific surface area, better low-temperature performance higher Mn4+ content.
